Statement of Faith
We, at SOF Ministries,
Believe in One God, who is Eternal, Self-Existing and not created, All-Powerful, All-Knowing, and All-Present. He is the Creator of all things that have ever been, that are, and that ever will be. He is Spirit and has been seen by no man.
He is good, He is truth, He is love, He is life, He is beauty, He is just, and He is the light of men. His unchanging character defines all that is good, true, loving, beautiful, and just. Outside of Him all things are dead and in darkness. We believe that the universe is not self-existing, but created by God for His purpose.
All men have voluntarily sinned against God, and being sinners cannot have communion with Him. All people have condemned themselves to eternal, unbearable suffering and damnation, separated from the loving God who wanted so much to have an intimate loving relationship with them.
This same God who loved men so much, became a man. We call that man Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He was conceived of a virgin, and He was at the same time fully God and fully man. Jesus Christ willingly allowed men to crucify Him on a cross and He died. Three days later, Jesus Christ literally rose from the dead in His physical body, conquering death, and He remains alive to this day at the right hand of God, the Father.
God has provided that the death of His Son would be sufficient atonement for each man’s sins, past, present, and future. One must admit and repent of their sins, and have faith in God’s promise of forgiveness because of the work done by Jesus Christ.
Any person who does not repent and accept this free gift of salvation or tries to acquire salvation by doing good things will remain condemned.
Any person who humbles themself and has faith in what God has said, will be forever justified before God and forgiven their sins. They will receive eternal life. This salvation from Hell will never be taken away, for God is faithful even when we are not.
When any man or woman has this saving trust in God’s promise, God enters that person’s life and indwells them forever in the form of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit cannot be seen, as we cannot see the wind, but we can see His effect on the world and individuals. Evidence of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life is the following: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.
The Bible is the absolute, inerrant Word of God. The Holy Spirit gives each believer the ability to understand the Word of God without the interpretation of any church authority.
Jesus Christ is coming back, and upon His return He will conquer the world and institute His kingdom here on earth. We believe that in His kingdom, all believers will be awarded or receive loss according to their level of submission to His Will during their life.
We not only believe, but know all of this to be true, for God has said it.
