Bibles for South Asia
From the tract, Rohi understood the way to have eternal life and he wrote to the address on the back to receive Bible correspondance courses. 30 years later, he and his family are Christians.
His sons have all become itinerant evangelists who have led hundreds, if not thousands, of other Muslims to Christ.
And all because of one tract.
Do you want to see the Muslim world reached for Christ? What seemed impossible just a generation or two ago, now seems not only very possible, but plausible! This should never have been in doubt, for we know that nothing is impossible with God and that we can do all things through Christ Jesus.
What God Is Doing
Regional missions leaders from all over the Muslim world are reporting brand new spontaneous church planting movements beginning in their countries. The Chinese church, which is over 100 million strong, has launched a project called "Back to Jerusalem", which has as its goal the evangelization of every country between China and Israel.
Muslims all over the world are reporting having dreams in which Jesus appears to them and tells them to follow Him. On recent mission trips, SOF members have met several former Muslims who have had dreams like this.
Clearly God is on the move. He is blowing the trumpet and beginning the battle for Muslim hearts and souls in earnest. SOF wants to be in the thick of that battle.
Why South Asia?
South Asia is strategic for reaching the entire Muslim world. One third of the world's Muslim population lives in Pakistan, India, and Bangaldesh. Only Indonesia has a larger Muslim population than those countries.
In order to reach these nations for Christ, three things are severely lacking:
- Bibles
- Workers
- Inspiring worship music in the native lanaguages of the people.
Currently, SOF ministries is making a major effort to meet the critical shortage of Bibles and other discipleship materials among Bengali Mulsims. We are raising funds to print Bibles, New Testaments, Gospels of Luke, tracts, and also to create video and audio scriptural products for the illiterate portion of the population.
Bengali Muslims have a population exceeding 150 million people. We firmly believe that as God brings this strategic population to salvation through His Son Jesus, that He plans to next send these Bengalis out as missionaries to the rest of the Muslim world!

Friends,
Today I am writing to inform you of great news for the people of
our area. For several months, we have been preparing for this week.
Some of my national partners have begun a huge Scripture and
literature distribution project. Our area encompasses the south
central portion of one South Asian nation. It houses over seven
million people, about 90% being Muslim. It is as laden with rivers,
both large and small, as it is with people. So the distro project I
am speaking of will be executed via boats. I am estimating over
50,000 pieces of material about the Lord Jesus will be distributed in
the coming weeks.
God has been with the team so far. They have been working just
about ten days, and have encountered many problems. The first day
they ran into a terrible storm on the large river they were running
down. A short distance from where they where, that same storm killed
ten people. The team became quite nervous, but endured the weather
with no big problems. The next day, a few Muslim men grabbed one of
the team members, who has believed less than six months, and took
him away from the others. They beat him up a little, because he was
giving out books about Jesus. A few days later two more members of
the team were had similar encounters. I was impressed by the response
of the team leader to them. "This kind of thing happens to the people
who faithfully serve the Lord Jesus. You must decide be faithful to
Him, though resistance comes."
I ask you to pray for them to have safety in their work. It is
not that they are unwilling to have hardships, but that if they see
much of this the work cannot continue as needed. Pray that the
millions of Muslims in this isolated places will get their hands on
these books, having probably their only chance to learn about the
Lord Jesus.
